Ryan W. Atty

April 24, 1989 — August 13, 2025

Ryan W. Atty, age 36, of Bingham Farms, passed away on August 13, 2025. He was born on April 24, 1989 in Detroit, Michigan; son of Korial and Patricia (Yaw) Atty. Ryan grew up in Northville and graduated from Northville High School with the class of 2007.

Ryan had many passions and interests. He loved to learn about life’s great mysteries and approached a vast array of subjects with an energetic and open mind. An avid collector, he sought out anything with hidden value. From pennies and silver to vintage toys, playing cards or antiques, any object with potential worth was of great interest to Ryan. His employment as an appraiser for an estate sale company perfectly blended his love of collecting with work. Writing was a favorite hobby. Ryan penned short stories, kept detailed journals, and was recently working on a children’s book.

Ryan’s greatest joy came from his family, and he was happiest when they were all together. He shared a special bond with his mother, spending countless hours enjoying everyday moments together and having deep, spiritual conversations about life. He was wholly loved and cherished by his father who was tireless in his efforts to support Ryan’s life and endeavors. He was always very close with each of his two sisters, nurturing those relationships no matter the distance that separated them over the years. To his four nieces and nephews, Uncle Ryan was the most fun, playing for hours with them in the pool, giving the best toys as gifts, pretending to be a fierce monster and chasing them around the house. In the evenings, they all snuggled up together in his room to watch movies. Each visit was an opportunity for him to relive the magic of his own childhood.

From a young age, Ryan’s imagination fueled hours of creative play, and as an adult, he remained a dreamer, brimming with entrepreneurial spirit and new ideas. Ryan had a gift for making people laugh. He found humor in everyday moments, in the situations around him, and often in himself. He gave the best hugs, loved with his whole heart and made an immeasurable impact on anyone who knew him.

Ryan’s faith was an important part of his life. As a child, he attended First Presbyterian Church of Northville with his family, and in recent years he had been attending Christ Community Church in Sterling Heights with his girlfriend. Though Ryan sometimes strayed from the path, he was never lost. Through the ups and downs of his life, God was his shepherd. He is now at Home and at peace.

In his 36 years, Ryan reinvented himself time and again. He was resilient and strong, gaining wisdom and deep empathy from the challenges he faced. Ryan will be remembered for his kind heart, playful spirit, and unwavering love for his family and friends. The memories he created and the love he shared will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Ryan is survived by his loving parents, Korial and Patricia Atty; his sisters, Corinne (Kamran) Khan and Kate (John) Quigley; his nieces and nephews, Gemma Khan, Micah Khan, Finn Quigley, and Kira Quigley; his girlfriend, Courtney Parman; his aunts and uncles, Bill (Karin) Yaw, Siham (Sabri) Auraha, Yalda (Nidhal) Atty, Akram (Deborah) Atty, and Basil Atty; and many cousins.

Ryan will be laid to rest in a private family service at Rural Hill Cemetery in Northville.
