Robert Douglas King

September 7, 1944 – May 16, 2026 

Robert “Bob” King went to be with the Lord in heaven. Bob passed away in his home on May 16, 2026. He is survived by his loving wife Kathie (Shaffer) King (married 60 years in August); his brothers, Leroy (the late Judy) King, and Mark (Jackie) King; and his brother and sister-in-law the late Byron and the late Beverly Shaffer. He is also survived by many brilliant and talented nieces and nephews.

Bob was born September 7, 1944 in St. Clair Shores, MI; son of Kathleen (Stone) and Leroy King. He grew up with his two brothers in Eastpointe, Michigan and graduated from Eastpointe High School, Class of 1962. Bob is a proud veteran of the US Army. Bob started his retail career with the JL Hudson Company and retired from the Petrie Corp. After retiring, he loved working as an Antiques dealer.

Bob chose not to have formal services, a private service will be held.
