Reba A. Jones, age 85, longtime resident of South Lyon, passed away on July 4, 2025. She was born the youngest of 12 on February 15, 1940 in Marietta, Georgia; daughter of Clifford and Levern (Lightley) Bearden. She was a proud graduate of Northville High School; class of 1958. Reba was united in marriage to Edward D. Jones on February 22, 1958; they spent 61 years lovingly devoted to one another until his death on March 25, 2019.
Reba was a devoted homemaker who lovingly cared for her family throughout her life. A supportive and dedicated mother, she never missed an opportunity to attend her children’s extracurricular activities, always cheering them on with pride. Reba adored her grandchildren and cherished every moment spent with them.
Reba and her husband shared a love of travel, exploring England, Hawaii, and countless destinations across the continental United States. For several years, she enjoyed life as a snowbird, following the sunshine to Florida during the colder months. In her spare time, Reba enjoyed watching true crime shows and mafia movies, always drawn to a good story. A talented artist, Reba had a passion for painting, with a special fondness for watercolors. Her beautiful landscapes and still life pieces reflected her creative spirit. She was also an exceptional cook, best known for her delicious spaghetti, a cherished family favorite.
Reba is survived by her loving son Jeffrey Jones; her grandsons, Mark Jones and Ray Jones; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Jones; her son Scott Jones; and 6 brothers and 5 sisters.
A private family service will be held.
