Patricia M. Cocuzza

March 8, 1951 — June 10, 2025

Patricia “Patti” Cocuzza, age 74, of Northville, Michigan, a former longtime resident of Madison Heights, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2025. She was born on March 8, 1951 in Detroit, Michigan; daughter of Joseph and Evelyn (Evers) Cocuzza.

Patti was raised in Detroit, Michigan, and graduated from Henry Ford High School in Detroit, Michigan, class of 1969. After graduation, Patti dedicated the next 30 years of her life to the U.S. Postal Service. She began her career as a letter sorter and eventually transitioned to the position of Time and Attendance Clerk, where she took great pride in ensuring the accurate tracking of employee hours and attendance.

Patti enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, especially quilting and reading. A true animal lover, she had a special place in her heart for cats. She spent many happy hours at the bowling alley, where she found both fun and friendship. Patricia was deeply proud of her political beliefs and held strong patriotic values--- she loved the red, white, and blue and stood firmly in support of her country.

Patti is survived by her sister Marlene Kaniarz, brother Joseph Cocuzza, sister-in-law Donna Heins and brother-in-law Jim Boylan; her nieces and nephews, Robert “Bob” Heins, Pam Griffith, Mike Heins, Scott Heins, Karen Hamilton, Renee LaFleur, Jeannette LaFleur, Richelle Hobbler, Travis Langston, Richina Langston, Andrew Langston, Rachel Markowitz, and Matthew Kaniarz. She was also loved by many great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Patti also leaves behind her furry companions, Sasha and Beau. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Robert Heins, sister Carol Boylan, sister Virginia Langston, and brother Louis Cocuzza.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 18, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a rosary service at 7:00 p.m. at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville. A funeral mass will be held Thursday, June 19, 2025 at 11:00 a.m., instate at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary, Cause of Our Joy Catholic Church, 8200 N. Wayne Rd, Westland, MI 48185. Fr. Sean Bonner will officiate the service. Patti will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial contributions to the Humane Society of Huron Valley, 3100 Cherry Hill Rd, Ann Arbor, MI 48105.
