Pamela L. Correll

Pamela Lee Correll, age 82, of Farmington Hills, passed away on July 26, 2026. She was born on July 5, 1944, in Northville, Michigan, daughter of Alfred and Pearl (Willis) Parmenter. She grew up in Northville and graduated from Northville High School with the Class of 1962. She continued her education at Michigan State University where she met her future husband on a blind date. Pamela was united in marriage to James E. Correll on June 20, 1964 and they spent 62 years devoted to loving and caring for one another.

Pam had a lifelong passion for historical preservation and education, dedicating countless hours to preserving and sharing the stories of the past. She was an active member of The Questers, serving as President of the Michigan Chapter and later as Vice President of The Questers International. Pam volunteered as a docent at the Governor Warner Mansion in Farmington and the House of Refuge Museum on Hutchinson Island, Florida, where she inspired visitors with her knowledge and enthusiasm for history. She also served on the City of Farmington Hills Historical Commission, helping to protect and promote the community's rich heritage. An avid traveler and historian, Pam journeyed throughout the country to increase her knowledge. She had a passion for learning. She spent endless hours writing papers to share the knowledge she gained throughout her research and travels. She presented these papers to many organizations throughout the years.

Pam was blessed with a close-knit circle of dear friends who shared many of her passions and brought great joy to her life. Their friendships were a treasured part of who she was. Together, they enjoyed luncheons, outings and memorable travels. They volunteered side by side at many of the same organizations and shared memberships in the garden club and women's club in both Michigan and Florida. Pam especially loved antiquing with her friends, and they delighted in attending doll conventions together. Pam kept an impressive collection of greeting cards for every occasion, thoughtfully remembering those that others might overlook. She took great joy in sending cards to family and friends, ensuring they always felt remembered and loved.

Pam had a remarkable gift for creating beauty through gardening. She designed magnificent gardens around her home, thoughtfully blending colorful perennials, lush greenery, and winding pathways to enhance the natural landscape. Her love of gardening extended beyond her own home as she generously shared her knowledge and talents through Farmington Garden Club and volunteer work in Farmington Hills, Indian River, and Nettles Island, Florida. Whether tending her own gardens or helping others cultivate theirs, Pam found great joy in making the world around her more beautiful.

Pam found peace and happiness whenever she was near the water. She cherished spending three to six months each year at her home on Hutchinson Island, Florida, escaping the Michigan winters, and treasured summers at her cottage on Indian River in Northern Michigan. She loved walking the beaches of Florida and the shores of the Great Lakes, searching for unique rocks, a hobby she especially enjoyed sharing with her daughter. Pam also had a keen eye for beauty and design. Each of her homes reflected her warmth and creativity, thoughtfully decorated with treasured collections of glassware, antiques, and an extensive doll collection that brought her great joy.

Pam had a lifelong love for dogs and was rarely without a loyal companion by her side. Over the years, she cherished many beloved pets, each holding a special place in her heart. Most recently, she adored her Yorkie, Maddie. She was also devoted to her Yorkies, Annie and Sadie, and her poodles, Mindy and Gidget. Gidget shared an especially close bond with Pam and was truly her constant companion.

Pam was a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, and a loyal friend. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will cherish the many wonderful moments they shared with her.

Pamela is survived by her loving husband, James E. Correll; her children, Todd Andrew Correll, Tammie Lee Glumm, and Michael James Correll; her grandchildren, Nicholas Edward, Emma Lee, Aiden Charles, and Leia Michael; and her sister, Sandra Kay Forth. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law, Arthur Forth.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Correll Home, 35956 Quakertown, Farmington Hills.
