Marjorie Anne (Hunt) Fox passed away peacefully on February 7, 2026, at the age of 98. She was the daughter of Gladys Irene (Kellogg) Hunt and J. Mart Hunt. Gladys’s grandfather was a brother to Dr. John Harvey Kellogg and W.K. Kellogg.
Marjorie was born in Battle Creek, Michigan, on August 23, 1927, where she lived for 39 years. She attended Urbandale Elementary School, W.K. Kellogg Junior High School, and Battle Creek Central High School. Growing up, she attended Urbandale Methodist Church.
On June 5, 1948, Marjorie married Frederick Gordon Fox of Battle Creek. In 1966, they moved to Grandville, Michigan, where they lived while Fred worked at Campbell Soup Company retiring after 30 years. After his retirement, they moved to Parrish, Florida. Fred passed away in 2002. Marjorie remained in Florida until 2014, when she moved to Northville, Michigan, to be near her daughter Marianne and family. She lived in Northville’s Allen Terrace community for 12 years.
Music was a lifelong passion for Marjorie. She sang in church choirs and community theater productions throughout her life, performing in Rodgers and Hammerstein musicals in Battle Creek and Grand Rapids, and singing the Messiah in the Grand Rapids Symphonic Choir.
Marjorie is survived by her three children: Loren J. Fox (Karen), Gary Lee Fox (the late Loni), and Marianne Fox Denomme (Tom). Marjorie was also blessed with eight grandchildren, Ashlee Fox, Julie Ryszka (Ryan), Jennifer Smith (Brian), Amy Corey (Dan), Marcia Force (Darrin), Kyle Denomme (Ellen), Hilarie Denomme (Collin Mauro), and Scott Denomme; 15 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was a proud aunt to 8 nieces and nephews. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother, Dr. J.W. Hunt, and her two sisters, Dorothy and Mary, her fraternal twin. “Grandma Fox/Grandma Marge/Grandma GG” will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 16, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville, Michigan. Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 777 West 8 Mile Road, Northville, Michigan. Marjorie will be interred beside her beloved husband, Fred, at Floral Lawn Cemetery in Battle Creek, Michigan.
