Marilynn Goering
October 4, 1942 - July 4 , 2026
On July 4, 2026, Marilynn (Bloodworth) Goering peacefully departed this life, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness as she joined her beloved husband, Karl. Long time resident of Northville, Michigan who recently moved to Clermont, Florida. Loving mother of Elizabeth Lynn Reigle and Christine (Adam) Lally. Born in Buffalo, NY, daughter of the late George N. Bloodworth and Esther M. (Dyble) Bloodworth. Survived by her brother James (Kathy) Bloodworth. Preceded in death by brothers George (Patricia) Bloodworth and Robert (Joyce) Bloodworth. Proud Aunt of nine.
Marilynn graduated from Wayne State University College of Nursing (BSN). Her nursing career primarily focused on teaching Pediatric Nursing at the Shapero School of Practical Nursing at Sinai Hospital of Detroit, where she worked until the school’s closure. After her daughters were grown, Marilynn returned to school and work, pursuing a new interest in Gerontology with a position at Turner Geriatric Clinic (University of Michigan Hospital). She earned a BS in Gerontology from Madonna University and an MA in Humanities from Central Michigan University, ultimately becoming an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Gerontology department at Madonna University. She was also a certified Nursing Home Administrator and held positions at several care facilities throughout the years.
Marilynn was known for her friendly personality and lively sense of humor. She was quick to step in and help others in times of need, and quick with a joke to lighten the mood. She greatly enjoyed music, singing along to songs on the radio and occasionally playing the piano. In retirement, she enjoyed traveling with her husband, Karl.
