Marietta Aldrich

Aug 25, 1925 — Sep 3, 2026

Marietta Aldrich, age 101, of Northville, passed away on September 3, 2026. She was born on August 25, 1925, in Dundee, Michigan, the daughter of Forde and Hatti (Sollares) Stacey. She was united in marriage to Dayton “Bob” Aldrich on January 19, 1945 and together they shared 47 years lovingly devoted to one another until his passing on August 18, 1992.

Marietta worked as a cook at Holland Elementary School in Holland, Ohio, for more than 25 years. She truly enjoyed her work and especially loved the time she spent with the children, who adored her in return. While living in Holland, Marietta was a devoted member of Living Faith United Methodist Church, where she volunteered as a Sunday School teacher and lent a helping hand in the kitchen for church luncheons. With her many years of experience, she was a true asset and always knew just what was needed to keep the kitchen running smoothly. After moving to Northville, Marietta became a member of First United Methodist Church of Northville, where she remained a faithful member for the past 30 years.

A wonderful cook, Marietta enjoyed preparing meals for family and friends and was also known for always being impeccably dressed. She loved to sing and could often be heard filling the room with a favorite tune. She shared her love of music with her children and grandchildren, teaching them songs from the Hit Parade songbook.

Marietta was incredibly kind and selfless, with a generous heart and a genuine desire to care for others. She rarely said no to anyone and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Patient and nurturing by nature, Marietta was a caregiver to many and found great joy in looking after the people she loved. Above all, Marietta was a devoted mother and a loving, active, and playful grandmother. She treasured time spent with her family, and her kindness, patience, joyful spirit, and loving nature will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Marietta is survived by her daughter, Rebecca (Richard) Spinale; her grandchildren, Kim (Kevin) Boik, Justin Glowski, Katie (Lance) Bezzina, Elizabeth (Bo) Yang, Brian (Jennifer) Aldrich, and Jacob Aldrich; her great grandchildren, Hannah, Al, Nicholas, Grace, Aiden, Emory, and Connor. She was preceded in death by her husband; her son, Randolph Aldrich; her granddaughter, Julie Aldrich; her parents; and her siblings, Jack Stacey, Richard Stacey, Forde Stacey, Vivian Weiss, and Helen Kelly.

Private services will be held. Marietta will be laid to rest at Springfield Cemetery in Holland, Ohio.
