Lucille L. Liske, age 95, longtime resident of Livonia passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025. She was born January 20, 1930 on a working farm in Alpena, Michigan; one of 12 children born to August and Lydia (Shiller) Beyer. Lucille was united in marriage to Arnold E. Liske on August 25, 1951, they spent 43 years lovingly devoted to one another until his death on December 12, 1994.
Lucille dedicated her life to caring for her husband and children; she loved being the heart of the home. She managed every detail of family life, ensuring dinner was on the table each evening at the same time and even hung the laundry out to dry.
Lucille was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Livonia for more than 30 years. In recent years, she was comforted by the visits and spiritual care she received from the clergy of New Hudson United Methodist Church at her assisted living community.
Lucille enjoyed being outdoors and could often be found digging in the dirt. She spent time tending her flower gardens filled with vibrant begonias and impatiens. Lucille had a fondness for birds, especially cardinals, and took great care to ensure that all the wildlife visiting her yard, including the deer, were well fed. Each winter, Lucille and her husband escaped the cold by traveling to Florida, where they spent sunny days walking the Gulf Coast beaches and searching for seashells. In her younger years, Lucille enjoyed crafting and working with ceramics.
Her greatest joy was always her family. Lucille was an active mother who loved taking her children on outings and adventures. When she became a grandmother, her grandchildren became the center of her world. She took immense pride in each of their accomplishments and cherished the time they spent together. She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
Lucille is survived by her loving children, Sheryl (William) Distin, Susan (Ronald) Genson, and Kenneth (Sheryl) Liske; her grandchildren, Ryan Genson, Nicole Genson, Bradley Liske, and Chad Liske; her great grandchildren, Dalila Jaech, Alyssa Jaech, Turner Liske, and Ames Liske; and her sister Phylis (Richard) Liske. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and 10 siblings.
Visitation will be held Saturday, January 10, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until Noon with a Funeral Service at Noon at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Glen Eden Memorial Park in Livonia.
