Judith was raised in Ann Arbor and later made her home in Ypsilanti, where she lived for many years before recently moving to Belleville.
Judith attended Ann Arbor High School with the Class of 1964. She attained an Associate Degree in business from Washtenaw Community College in her adult years. Throughout her working years, she held a variety of clerical/office positions. She retired from PNC and ultimately retired from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Naturally organized and personable, Judith’s attention to detail and ability to connect with others served her well throughout her career.
Judith was an active member of Belleville First United Methodist Church. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she looked forward to attending weekly services and enjoying the fellowship of her church community. Her devotion to God and her church provided her with strength and kept her grounded throughout her life. An animal lover, Judith had a special place in her heart for cats, Siamese cats in particular. Over the years, she lovingly cared for many feline companions and leaves behind her beloved cat, Tippi. Judith was also very social and treasured the friendships she made throughout her life.
More recently, she enjoyed participating in two weekly morning coffee groups, where she looked forward to sharing conversation, laughter, and time with friends. She enjoyed taking yoga classes, going to the movie theatre, and going on group bus trip adventures with her friends. She also liked attending social events and exercise classes at the Bellville Senior Center. She was enthusiastic about attending outdoor summer evening music concerts in downtown Belleville. Above all, Judith was a devoted mother and a true friend to many. She valued the people in her life and the connections she shared with them. Her kindness, friendship, and caring nature will be fondly remembered, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Judith is survived by her daughter Lorri (Kirby) Abbasspour; her sister Mary (Smoky) Pomaville; her brother Donald (Kathy) Duncan; her grandson Jason Abbasspour, her nieces Brenda Hines and Tracy O’Connor, and her nephew Shawn Duncan. She is also loved by several cousins, her dear friend Bob Guevara, as well as many other friends.
