Jeffrey S. Stewart

Jeffrey S. Stewart, age 64, longtime resident of Northville, passed away on February 24, 2026. He was born on February 18, 1962, in Livonia, Michigan, son of James and Arlene (Walsh) Stewart. He was a proud graduate of Redford Union High School with the class of 1980. Jeff was united in marriage to Sandra Choss on August 11, 2021 and they spent the past 4 years lovingly devoted to one another as husband and wife.

Jeff was a part-owner of Stewart and Stewart Trucking in Detroit, a company founded by his father. He began working there at a young age and held deep respect for his father’s belief that success should be earned. Starting at the bottom, Jeff worked diligently and steadily advanced through the company, eventually becoming a partner. Even after his retirement in 2022, Jeff remained closely connected to the business, continuing to check in and take pride in the company’s ongoing success.

Jeff was an avid fisherman who found great peace on the water. He grew up fishing on Portage Lake and later made his home on a lake in Northville, where he spent countless days casting for bass and pike. Fishing was a daily ritual for Jeff, and some of his favorite moments were quiet afternoons spent floating on the pontoon with his wife. In his younger years, he also enjoyed time spent up north riding dirt bikes with friends.

Jeff loved to travel and especially cherished time spent visiting family in Florida and New Mexico. He also enjoyed the sunshine and beaches of Punta Cana. A skilled poker player, Jeff often spent time at FireKeepers Casino with friends. He was an avid sports fan, particularly of football and baseball, and could often be found watching games on television while cheering on the Detroit Lions and the Detroit Tigers.

Jeff had a deep love for all animals, with a special place in his heart for his beloved cats, Misty and Mandy. Above all, he was a devoted and loving husband, kind, caring, and thoughtful in every way. Jeff considered his wife his best friend, and together they shared countless hours of laughter and companionship. Jeff will be deeply missed and the memories he leaves behind will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.

Jeff is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Choss-Stewart; his sister, Sheryl (Kim) Rzetelny; and many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
