Jeffrey D. Flora, age 43, of Northville, passed away on February 21, 2026. He was born on February 14, 1983 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the son of David and Mary (Weinley) Flora. He graduated from Plymouth Salem High School with the class of 2001. Jeff met Natalie Musa on their last day of high school, casually dating until they made it official after college. They dated for 10 years loving life and having a lot of adventures before he proposed on her birthday during a camping trip. They were united in marriage on November 8, 2014, a day many people remember as a day to never forget. For 11 years, they built a beautiful life rhythm filled with fun, partnership, and the everyday joys (and chaos) of raising a family together as husband and wife. Jeff and Natalie’s relationship was admired by many, with nearly every moment spent surrounded by family and friends.
Jeff spent a period of his life working as a mortgage broker, and while he was successful it was not work that fulfilled him. He selflessly stepped away from his career to raise their children at home, standing firmly beside Natalie as she pursued her work. This role, untraditional to some quickly became his greatest joy and proudest purpose. He devoted himself completely to caring for his family, which was always his top priority. Jeff lived for his son Cole’s soccer and basketball seasons, faithfully taking him to every practice and cheering him on at every game. The two were always practicing together, whether kicking a soccer ball in the yard, shooting baskets or playing video games. They competed heavily, often ending in arguments as to who won. Jeff and Cole were truly best friends, with Cole a mini version of his dad in every way. Jeff shared a special bond with his daughter Maisyn. Together they enjoyed their love of Harry Potter and most recently Stranger Things, building Legos, and spending time just being together. He ensured to attend all of her school functions, dance recitals and take her to piano and dance when needed. Jeff always made sure Maisyn felt included, playing with her constantly, sharing his love of fishing, proudly carrying his princess on his shoulders wherever they went, and being her biggest encourager and the calm she trusted in her fiercest moments.
Jeff lived a full and active life finding some of his greatest joy outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and kept his freezer stocked with freshly caught walleye. Whether fishing on a lake, pond, river, or out on the ice, Jeff always seemed to know where the best fishing holes were. With an instinct for knowing what was biting and when, it wasn’t unusual for Jeff to jump in the car in the middle of the night and drive for hours just for the chance to drop a line in the water. Fishing wasn’t just a hobby for him; it was part of who he was. Jeff was a successful Morel mushroom hunter and had several carefully guarded secret spots where he returned year after year. He also enjoyed golfing, playing in two leagues annually, and it was a hobby he shared with his son.
A lifelong athlete, Jeff played soccer in high school and college and continued playing well into adulthood. He was also a devoted Notre Dame fan, faithfully watching every game on television and cheering on his team. Jeff loved to travel, especially when a vacation included a fruity drink, swimming, and snorkeling in the sun. One of his favorite places was Hawaii, where he and Natalie honeymooned and hoped to return again one day with the kids. Most recently, Jeff and his family had just returned from a trip to Orlando, enjoying time together swimming, playing putt putt, and golfing with Cole and Chris. Throughout his life, Jeff also cherished trips Up North to Torch and thumb lake. Jeff and Natalie had a fond love camping and canoeing, spending quality time with his family.
Jeff’s love for family and friends was constant and showed up in everything he did. He was an amazing son to Mary, always ready to help with whatever she needed, a strong and supportive brother to his sisters Jen and Jill, and the very best uncle to his nieces, nephews, and even their friends’ children. Jeff loved the beautiful chaos of Natalie’s large Italian family and was welcomed in as one of their own from the very beginning. Kind, easygoing, and endlessly dependable, Jeff was truly “one of the good ones,” leaving behind a legacy of love that will never be forgotten.
Jeff is survived by his loving wife, Natalie Flora; his children, Cole Flora and Maisyn Flora; his beloved Corgi, Peach; his mother, Mary Flora; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Chris and Suzanne Musa; his sisters, Jennifer (Michael) Shull and Jill (Edward) Jones; his sister-in-law, Carly Musa; his brothers-in-law, Christopher “Buddy” (Sarah) Musa and Caden Musa; his nieces and nephews, Jack Shull, Luke Shull, Stella Jones, Sophie Jones, Olivia Musa, CJ Musa, and Abraham Musa. He was also loved by many aunts, uncles, cousins, God Parents, and friends. Jeff was preceded in death by his father, David Flora; his mother-in-law, Kathy Musa; and his niece, Lillianna Shull.
