Jan M. Plumridge

May 17, 1947 — September 28, 2025

Jan Plumridge — beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, partner and friend — passed away peacefully on September 28, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Known for her selflessness, strength, and radiant spirit, Jan’s life was a testament to love, hard work, and unwavering devotion to those she held dear.

Born in the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan, Jan was the second oldest of seven children to the late Vernon and Loraine Plumridge. She grew up in a household alongside her siblings Carol (Paul) Trese, Vernon “Jeff” (Michelle) Plumridge, Donna (Steve Wilson) Douglass, Jill (Don) Lewis, Patrice (the late Steve) Heyer, and Juli (the late Bob) Schuck. Jan was a devoted aunt to many beloved nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in her heart. A proud graduate of Henry Ford High School, Class of 1965, Jan carried the values of dedication and perseverance into every chapter of her life.

Jan was a loving mother to two beautiful children, Toni Spano-English and John “Jake” Quinlisk, whom she raised with unconditional love. Through every challenge and triumph, she stood by them, guiding them with her wisdom, compassion, and strength. Her greatest joy in life came from being a grandmother to Erin English, Branden Pardikes, and Mila Quinlisk — each of whom she cherished deeply and loved beyond measure.

Professionally, Jan was a respected and hardworking general manager in well-known establishments throughout Canton, Plymouth, Northville, and South Lyon. Jan began her career in 1978 at Rusty Nail Lounge in Canton and worked at Kenny’s Food & Spirits, Side Street Pub, Lower Town Grill, Press Box Tavern, Poole’s Tavern and ended her career at Lake Street Tavern in South Lyon. Her leadership, work ethic, and kindness left a lasting impression on colleagues, customers, and friends alike.

Jan’s warmth touched everyone she met. She was known for her generous heart and silly personality, always putting others before herself. Christmas was her favorite time of year — a season she filled with love, cherished traditions, heartfelt memories and piles of presents for her kids and grandkids.

Jan was formerly married to the late Salvatore “Sam” Spano and to John J. Quinlisk. In her later years, she shared a devoted companionship with Alan LaVine, with whom she built a long-lasting partnership.

Those who knew Jan will remember her as a beautiful soul — inside and out — whose love knew no bounds and whose kindness had no limits. Her sense of humor was unmatched, making everyone around her laugh always. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know her.

Memorial visitation will be held Friday, October 10, 2025 from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm with a celebration of Jan’s life beginning at 5:00 pm at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a charity of the giver’s choice.

Rest in peace Jan, an incredible woman who made every room brighter and every heart warmer. She will be forever loved and remembered always.
