Jacqueline P. Fisher

July 4, 1929 — February 22, 2026

Jacqueline P. Fisher, 96, of Northville, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2026. She was born on July 4, 1929, in Detroit, Michigan, the beloved daughter of Harold and Gertrude (Gibbs) Payne. Jacqueline graduated from Cooley High School with the class of 1947. On September 13, 1952, she was united in marriage to John R. Fisher, and together they shared 11 happy years until his unexpected passing in 1963. Following their marriage, Jacqueline and John made their home in Redford, where she lovingly raised her family and resided for 62 years before moving to Northville in 2017.

Jackie was a strong and devoted mother who worked tirelessly to provide for her daughters. After they completed grade school, she began her career at the National Bank of Detroit, where she served as a bank teller for 27 years before retiring in 1995.

Jackie loved gardening and took great pride in keeping her yard immaculate, always ensuring her flowers were in full bloom. She had a keen eye for interior design and enjoyed redecorating her home. She expressed her fashion-forward style in both her surroundings and her wardrobe; she was always beautifully dressed. Jackie was fun to be around, a loyal friend, and loved sharing laughs and experiences with others. After retirement she became an active member of the Red Hat Society.

Jackie loved to travel, venturing to destinations such as France, Germany, and Italy, but she was just as happy embarking on adventures closer to home. Each summer, she and her daughter Louise spent two weeks tent camping at various Michigan state and national parks. Jackie stayed active throughout her life, enjoying yoga and walking, and in her younger years she also found joy in bowling and golfing. Her fun-loving and adventurous spirit will be deeply missed.

Jackie is survived by her daughter Lynne (Mark) Ivankovics, her son-in-law Tim Doty, and many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter Louise Fisher, and her siblings, Gene Payne, Pat Lumley, Bill Payne, and Bobbi Payne.

A celebration of Jackie’s life will be held at a later date. Please check for updated service information. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Huron Valley, 3100 Cherry Hill Road, Ann Arbor, MI 48105.
