Henry A. Kilgore

Henry A. Kilgore, age 89 a longtime resident of Northville, passed away peacefully June 4, 2021. He was born on January 8, 1932 in Dearborn, Michigan; son of Doss and Lily (nee Ingram) Kilgore. Hank proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was united in marriage to Patricia L. Hix on June 27, 1977; they spent almost 44 loving years devoted to one another as husband and wife.

Hank worked for Ford Motor Company for 50 years as a pipefitter, he retired in 2010. He was a successful harness racehorse owner and trainer. He owned, raised, and cared for 16 racehorses throughout his career. Hank was a hard worker and proud husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

He is survived by his beloved wife Pat; his loving children, Deborah (Tim) Harvey, Mary Marecle, Glen (Julie) Kilgore, Doug (Veronica) McCowan, and Pam (Dan) Matthews; 14 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and 6 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son Jimmy Kilgore; and his siblings, Rozella, Jimmy, Nola, Harold, Beulah, and Donald.

Visitation will be held Monday, June 7, 2021 from 11:30am until 1:30pm with a funeral service beginning at 1:30pm at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville. He will be laid to rest at Cadillac Memorial Gardens West in Westland, Michigan.
