Heather M. Rome

Heather M. Rome, age 48, recently of Westland, formerly a lifelong resident of Port Huron, passed away on September 26, 2026. She was born on August 3, 1978, in Port Huron, Michigan, daughter of Charles A. Rome and Debra A. (Okarmus) Bartley.

Heather worked as a Home Health Care Provider with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. For the past 13 years, she devoted herself to caring for two sisters, forming a bond with them through the years. She appreciated the flexibility her work provided and the opportunity to work close to home.

Heather adored her Pit Bull, Diezel, and treasured their walks together. She enjoyed shopping and had a special love for shoes, purses, and jewelry. A wonderful cook, Heather loved preparing meals for those she loved, with her pasta salad and fried chicken always family favorites. She also liked discovering new recipes online and trying them out. Heather enjoyed playing cards, especially Spades, and loved to dance.

Heather was a homebody who preferred spending time at home surrounded by family and friends. Among her favorite things were barbecuing, sitting around the bonfire, and watching movies outside with a projector and screen. She especially liked paranormal thrillers and enjoyed watching true crime documentaries on television. Heather worked hard, played hard, and, most importantly, loved hard. She had a strong personality and could be stubborn at times, but that same strength was reflected in the fierce love she had for those around her. She cared deeply for her family and friends and would do anything for them. Heather will be truly missed by all who loved her.

Heather is survived by her loving mother, Debbie Bartley; her companion of 13 years, Harrison “Boo” Haynes; her children, Deion, Tia, Olivia, Jacob, and Brendon; her grandchildren, Leah, Isiah, Amelia, Braylee, and Emberlyn; her sister, Lisa Rome; her sister-in-law, Amber Bartley; her niece Shelby; her nephew Jordan; and her great nephew Nico. She was preceded in death by her father, and her brothers, Charlie Rome, Eric Bartley, and Cory Bartley.

Memorial Visitation will be held Friday, October 16, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m. at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville.
