Glenn R. Burke
Age 57, of Northville, formerly of Wyckoff, New Jersey, passed away November 17, 2021. He was born on October 2, 1964 in Wayne, Michigan; son of Daniel and Diane (Schuck) Burke. Glenn was united in marriage to Michele Wagner on October 3, 1992; they spent 29 years devoted to one another as husband and wife.
Glenn graduated from Brighton High School; class of 1982. He then attended the University of Michigan where he earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and an MBA from Temple University. After completing college, he spent 25 years working for Ford Motor Company in Sales and Marketing. He also relocated to New Jersey for a role with Avis Budget Group and most recently was employed with Harman International.
Glenn was a 20-year cancer survivor and volunteered as an Ambassador with the Lymphoma Research Foundation. As an Ambassador, he gave presentations and shared his personal story with others to raise awareness and help those who are affected by the disease. Glenn was an avid runner; he ran long distances multiple times a week. He was very proud to have run the New York and Boston Marathons. A hockey fan, Glenn enjoyed playing and cheering for the Detroit Red Wings and the University of Michigan Men’s Hockey Team. He was also a University of Michigan football fan and loved going to games at the Big House. One of his favorite things to do was go downhill skiing with his son and try to keep up with him on the black diamond runs. Glenn loved to travel and always preferred to go somewhere as opposed to staying home. He spent weeks in the summer on Hilton Head Island and in Northern Michigan on Mullett Lake boating and swimming with family.
Glenn is survived by his loving wife, Michele Burke; his son Brendan Burke; his parents, Dan and Diane Burke; his mother-in-law, Claudia Wagner; his siblings, Paul (Cindy) Burke, David (Jill) Burke and Mary (Michael) Ducato; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at 11:00 a.m., in state beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 133 Orchard Drive, Northville. Father Denis Theroux will officiate the service. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family requests that anyone in attendance at the mass please wear a mask to protect themselves and others.
