Elizabeth A. Clancy

Elizabeth A. Clancy, age 84, longtime resident of Northville, passed away on June 8, 2026. She was born on March 29, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan; daughter of Marcus and Sabine (Wojcik) Clark. She was united in marriage to Frank Clancy who died shortly after they were married. Elizabeth found love again with Alan Brown and they were happily married for many years.

Elizabeth was a proud graduate of Walled Lake Central High School with the class of 1960. She continued her education at Schoolcraft College and Madonna University where she earned a bachelor degree in teaching. While earning her teaching degree, Elizabeth discovered that her true calling was entrepreneurship.

In 1989, she opened Elizabeth’s Bridal Manor on Main Street in downtown Northville, turning her vision into one of the community’s most beloved bridal boutiques. Known for her warmth, impeccable style, and dedication to her clients, Elizabeth helped thousands of brides, mothers of the bride, and bridesmaids find the perfect attire for their special occasions. Her reputation for exceptional service extended far beyond Northville, earning her recognition nationwide. Elizabeth became a familiar and admired presence at the Bridal Market in New York, where top designers knew her well and regarded her as one of the classiest and best-dressed bridal shop owners in the industry. After more than three decades of creating memorable experiences for countless families, Elizabeth retired in 2023 after selling her cherished shop.

Elizabeth was a devoted member of the Northville community, generously sharing her time and talents with causes close to her heart. She volunteered at Mill Race Village and faithfully supported Civic Concern each Christmas, always looking for ways to give back to others. Elizabeth was a faithful member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church.

A gifted dancer in her younger years, Elizabeth's love of dance remained a lifelong passion. Her favorite dance was the Argentine Tango. She continued dancing and competing through the Arthur Murray School of Dance well into her later years, competing until the age of 80. She had a deep love for animals, especially cats, and cherished her beloved Siamese companion, Clancy. An avid gardener, she took great pride in creating beautiful landscapes around both her home and shop. Her passion and dedication to gardening were recognized when Elizabeth’s Bridal Manor won the Best of Northville Beautification Award.

Elizabeth was known for her impeccable style and elegance, always dressed beautifully and carrying herself with grace. A familiar and beloved presence around town, she could often be seen enjoying a drive in her sporty convertible. Warm, welcoming, and genuinely interested in others, Elizabeth had a remarkable ability to connect with people of all ages and formed lasting friendships wherever she went. Above all, Elizabeth loved her family fiercely. She was a devoted sister, treasured aunt, loving godmother, loyal friend, and caring neighbor. Her kindness, generosity, and vibrant spirit touched countless lives, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

Elizabeth is survived by her sister-in-law, Lowell Clark and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alan Brown; her first husband, Frank Clancy; her parents; and her siblings, John Clark, Jane Clark, and Marianne Willman. 

Memorial Visitation will be held Thursday, June 25, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville. The Funeral Mass will be held Friday, June 26, 2026 at 10:45 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 133 Orchard Drive, Northville. She will be laid to rest at Rural Hill Cemetery in Northville.
