Betty Burkacki, 74, a pillar of the Northville community and a dedicated advocate for veterans, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2026.
A Life of Service
Betty was a tireless supporter of those who served our country. She served with distinction as the President of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Auxiliary, where she was respected as a “pro” with an unwavering commitment to the mission. Her leadership and vibrant spirit left an indelible mark on the Northville veteran community and VFW Post 4012.
Family and Heart
Betty was the beloved widow of her husband, Bernie Burkacki. In later years, she was blessed to find companionship and joy with her life partner, Donnie Stout. She was the heart of her family and took immense pride in her grandchildren, Shelby, Carly, and Sean Redfield and Great Granddaughter Violet Standridge. She will be deeply missed by them, as well as her nephews Eric Redfield and Bill White, and her niece Lori Sue Tipton. Her 74 years were defined by her strength, her generous spirit, and her devotion to those she loved.
Memorial Services
A celebration of Betty’s life and legacy will be held on Sunday, March 15, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the VFW Post 4012, located at 438 S. Main Street, Northville, MI 48167. Family and friends are invited to gather and share stories in the place she served so faithfully.

In honor of Betty’s life and her passion for the VFW mission, the family suggests donations be made to the VFW Post 4012 Auxiliary in her memory.
