Bernice Schiller (nee Masanovich) passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday June 15th, 2026. She is survived by her beloved husband, Russell ("Russ"), with whom she shared 50 wonderful years of marriage. She was predeceased by her parents, Andrija Masanovich (1986) and Ljubica Masanovich (2000); her brother, Mitch Mason (2022); and her brother-in-law, Steve Gnatovich (2012).
She is lovingly remembered by Mitch's wife, Marian Mason; her brother, Walter (Katie) Masanovich; her sister, Helen Gnatovich (partner Rod Campbell); Russ’s cousins Nancy Lightbody (Lincoln 2014), and David Foster.
Although Bernice did not have children of her own, she shared a special bond and was devoted to her nephews, Jerry Mason, Jeff Mason (Linda), Mark Masanovich (Tricia), and Matti Masanovich (Cristy); her niece, Marlo St. Pierre (Dave); and Russ's cousin's son, Michael Lightbody (Jessica). She cherished not only these relationships but also the love and companionship of their growing families, as well as friends and neighbors.
Bernice treasured her lifelong friendships with Donna Radanovic and Caroline Woronchuk (2022).
Bernice was a dedicated employee of Windsor Tool and Die for more than 60 years. She loved her work, adored her co-workers, and especially enjoyed working for Karl Doster, Bus Lossing, and Max Ofner.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Windsor Regional Hospital and Windsor Essex Hospice for their compassionate care and support.
Bernice said, "Life was so good, wish I could live it all over again."
