Angela Joy Reed

April 4, 1972 — March 16, 2026

Angela J. Reed, age 53, of Northville, passed away on March 16, 2026. She was born on April 4, 1972 in Cincinnati, Ohio; daughter of Thomas Eland and Ruth Beggs. Angela was united in marriage to Phillip A. Reed on November 2, 2002; they spent 23 years together devoted to each other and their family.

Angela graduated from Anderson High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, with the Class of 1990. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Special Education, with an emphasis in elementary education, from Arkansas State University. After relocating to Plymouth, Michigan, she continued her studies and received her master’s degree from Eastern Michigan University.

Following her graduation, Angela began her career in special education, teaching in both Dearborn Heights and Pontiac. After the birth of her first daughter, she chose to remain at home to care for her family. When her daughters were grown up, she returned to teaching at Grandview Elementary School in Livonia. Throughout the years, she was a dedicated and beloved educator who touched the lives of many students.

Angela was an active and devoted member of Newburg United Methodist Church, where her involvement was truly remarkable. She took great pride in volunteering and was always willing to lend a helping hand wherever it was needed. She also served as a youth leader and generously gave her time as a chaperone on numerous mission trips with the Appalachian Service Project. Her voice blended beautifully within the choir, where she spent many years singing alongside friends.

Angela was a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished daughter. She enjoyed reading mystery novels and tackling challenging Sudoku puzzles. A talented seamstress, she took great joy in creating beautiful dresses for her daughters to wear and treasure. Angela was also an excellent water skier who embraced life with laughter and a sense of fun. She loved to travel, especially enjoying adventurous road trips, and held a special fondness for visiting Hawaii. Her joyful spirit and warm presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Angela is survived by her husband Phillip A. Reed; her daughters, Karen Reed and Danielle Reed; her parents, Thomas and Patricia Eland and Ann Santel; her stepchildren, Phillip (Morgan) Reed and Mary (Daniel) Torres; her stepbrothers, Christopher (Melissa) Zwarka, James (Julie) Bergeman, and Jeff (Laurie) Santel; and her stepsister Vickie (Dave) Stanforth; 6 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
