Dick Snyder

Dick Snyder, age 73, of South Lyon, formerly a longtime resident of Northville, went home to be with Jesus his Savior February 8, 2017.   He was born April 18, 1943; son of Clyde and Letha (nee Adams) Snyder.    He graduated from Lincoln Park High School; Class of 1961.  While in high school, Dick was a tremendous athlete; he was on the Varsity Football, Basketball, and Baseball Teams.  Dick was united in marriage to Marilyn J. Roy on June 23, 1962; they spent 54 loving years together.  Dick worked as a District Sales Manager for National Steel Corporation.  He retired in 2002 after working with the company for almost 40 years.  He was a member of the Lincoln Park High School Alumni Association.   Dick was a huge sports fan; he loved U of M Football and had Red Wing season tickets for 20 years.  He also loved watching his daughter play on the Northville High School Girls Soccer Team.  Dick was an avid golfer; he played on many golf leagues throughout the years and was a member of Plum Hollow Country Club.  He enjoyed listening to 50’s and 60’s rock and roll; one of his favorites was Johnny Mathis.  He also enjoyed fishing and ice fishing.  Dick was still in contact with many lifelong friends; he enjoyed getting together with them as well as attending reunions.  He loved his family and adored his daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  Dick had a personal relationship with Jesus; he had trusted Jesus Christ for his salvation.    Dick is survived by his beloved wife, Marilyn J. Snyder; his daughters, Lori (Robert) Beatty, Amy (Gary) Nabozny, and Angie (Alex) Gue; his grandchildren, Jeffrey (Katie) Burdess, Alissa Burdess, Emily Burdess, Jessica Nabozny, Isabella Gue, Beckett Gue, Alexia Nabozny, Grace Gue, and Lanie Gue; and his great-grandchildren, Madeline Burdess and Mason Burdess.  He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers.    The visitation will be held Thursday, February 9, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 W. Dunlap, Northville.  A funeral service will be held Friday, February 10, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Oakland Hills Community Church, 37150 W. 8 Mile Rd., Farmington Hills.    In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to Oakland Hills Community Church, 37150 W. 8 Mile Rd., Farmington Hills, MI 48335 would be appreciated.
