Age 88, of Northville, Michigan,
died March 14, 2010,
at ClareBridgeSeniorLivingCenter.
He was born October 18, 1921 in Detroit, Michigan,
the son of late Julia and John Patak.He
was the youngest of 4 siblings.On April 19, 1947, he married
Eleanor Narkun at the Church of Assumption in Detroit,
Michigan. They were married for
61 years until the death of Eleanor in 2008.
He served in the United
States Coast Guard during WWII, managing an engine and boiler crew on the ship
Breckenridge in the Philippines.Frank was a member of the National
Association of Power Engineers and managed construction of major malls and department
stores in Chicago
and the Detroit Metropolitan area.He
retired from Dayton Hudson Properties in 1978, but continued working in his
field until the age of 80.Frank
authored several articles about the design, installation and operation of
energy conservation systems.
He is survived by his son,
George Patak and daughter Barbara Flis, both of Farmington
Hills and was a fabulous grandfather to granddaughters Julie Flis
of Royal Oak; Sarah Patak of Florida;
Mary Flis of Chicago; and Megan Patak of West Bloomfield.
As Frank loved to golf, a
memorial and luncheon for family and friends will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday,
May 1, at George Murphy’s Restaurant, at the Fox Creek Golf Course, 36000 7 Mile Rd, Livonia,
Michigan48152.
