Geraldine H. Walker Sears

Geraldine H. Walker Sears      Age 82, of Northville/South Lyon, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2010.  She was born October 25, 1927 in Rochester, MI to Edward and Mabel (Kidd) Karschnick.  Geraldine was united in marriage to Fredrick A. Walker in 1951 until his death on February 14, 1968. Through many blessings she met and married Robert Sears in 1976; they spent 14 loving years together until his death on July 31, 1990. Geraldine’s major passions in life were rug hooking and baking cakes.  Her entire family had amazing cakes for birthdays, weddings, and special events.  She worked at a bakery in her younger years, but most of her cake-baking accomplishments were self-taught. She also enjoyed cooking and completing crossword puzzles.      She is survived by her children Clayton (Sally) Walker and Eva (Russ) Blackman; her sister Eleanor Sherman; 4 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Fredrick Walker, her husband Robert Sears, her son Richard Walker, and several brothers and sisters.      Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 23, 2010 from 11:30am until 1:30pm with the funeral service beginning at 1:30pm at Casterline Funeral Home, Inc. 59255 10 Mile Road, South Lyon.  Pastor Ron Wrightson with Life Church in Canton will officiate the service.  Geraldine will be laid to rest in Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens in Novi.  Contributions would be appreciated to the Family.
